Maya Salazar is a junior at Seattle Prep, and she has high hopes for her first year on the Prep Panther staff. Maya is a staff writer, and she enjoys all types of writing; fiction, non-fiction, and essays. She is the only child of a mother, Esperanza, and a father, Michael, who live in Magnolia with their dog Paris. Maya is on swim team for the first time this year, and she also enjoys painting and creating art with her friends. Maya is very excited to be a staff writer this year, and she looks forward to discovering new things about her school, interviewing staff members and classmates, and writing as many articles as she can!
