Students, Parents, and Faculty: The Blood Drive is Back!

November 21st – Dec 5th

Abby Wilwerding, Staff Writer

Like many things over this past year, the annual blood drive is functioning in a “virtual” format, but that doesn’t mean it’s any less important!

As of now, Blood supplies in our region are extremely low due to many factors: staff shortages, continued blood collection constraints due to COVID, and an alarmingly high appointment cancellation rate. To help recoup blood supplies, Seattle Prep is partnering with Bloodworks Northwest to host a two-week blood donation campaign.

In past years, Prep has had strong attendance, which is the goal again this year. The virtual aspect of the blood drive means it won’t be on campus, instead at any Bloodworks pop-up location or donor center. Although this means students can’t skip class and grab some yummy snacks, it’s still a great way to give back, especially during the Thanksgiving season.

Simply head to the website to schedule an appointment for November 21st – December 5th. First-time donors ages 16-17 must fill out a permission slip (all links included below). Hope to see you there, Prep!
