Seattle Preparatory School has always valued educators who not only excel in their fields but also connect with their students on a personal level. One program that Seattle Prep is proudly known for is its Alumni Service Corps (ASC).
Mr. Alindogan ’19, commonly known as Mr. A, is back at Seattle Prep after being away at George Washington University where he pursued a dual major in Neuroscience and Psychology. He helps Ms. Young with Algebra 2/Trig and Ms. Newman with Biology. He also helps out with NHS tutoring and he plans on coaching baseball in the spring. His academic background provides him with a unique perspective that enriches his teaching experiences.
When asked about his decision to return to Seattle Prep, Alindogan revealed that it was Mr. Meza who reached out to him. Already planning on taking a year off before going to medical school, Alindogan thought this was perfect for him.
Mr. Meza describes his decision, “Mr. Alindogan graduated from Seattle Prep with a unique combination of intellectual curiosity and humility. He made a lasting impact on his teachers who consistently described him as genuinely thoughtful and always wanting to know more. I remember him from class as so dialed in, and a leader to his peers in small group. We thought he would bring these gifts to life as an ASC member and be an excellent role model to our students.”
With a passion for education and a dedication to helping students excel, Alindogan has quickly become an asset to the school’s community. What sets Alindogan apart is his approachability and commitment to student success. He’s always available for questions, clarifications, or just a friendly chat.
Alindogan says, “Even if you don’t have any of the ASC members in class, come talk to us and say hi. We just want to get to know everyone.”
Since being back, Alindogan reflects on the changes he’s noticed. While the Merlino Center stands out as a notable addition, he emphasizes that the close-knit sense of community has remained unchanged. He further notes that the school appears less segregated between classes, highlighting the positive evolution of inclusivity at Prep. Alindogan has also gained a huge appreciation for the teachers and all that they do behind the scenes.
As another school year begins at Prep, Alindogan. offers students some advice: “Slow down to stop and smell the roses. Buy into being a part of Prep’s community and participate in everything.”
