The Seattle Prep Track Team started the season off strong with their best foot forward. Coach Scott says, “There are a lot of newcomers. The girls’ team is young and new. The boys are fairly seasoned.” On the boys distance team Joe Hardy, Keenan Leary, and Andy Reischling lead the pack. Joe Hardy, Andy Reischling, Keegan Boehm, and Keenan Leary all competed in the Arcadia meet on April 11th and 12th. It is one of the top meets in nation. Hardy is number two in the nation for the two-mile and number six for the mile. The girls’ distance team is lead by Bridget Keaton, Kate Gleason, and Sandy Matthews. Keane Collins, Jake Adler, Griffin Bills, and Nick Mocha lead the boys’ sprints. Collins and Adler also compete in the long jump and are strong competitors.
The girls’ sprints are lead by Elena Joseph, Erin Howard, Clarissa Teodoro, and Maggie Downer. Senior Ellie Harris is one of the top competitors in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles. Coach Scott says, “Addison Gifford and Ellie Harris keep up the hurdles crew.” Lauren Ylvisaker and Bailey Aggen jump in the long jump and prove to be strong competition. Peter Geivett is the top Prep thrower in the discus and the shot put. Prep will compete in the Metro Championship on May 14th and 16th. Metro All- Comers in on May 15th. State is on May 20th at Mt. Tahoma High School in Tacoma
