This year’s tennis season has been a surprisingly dry and sunny one. The season started on March 17, and so far they have only experienced two rained out games. The varsity coach for tennis this year is Leslie Burrows while the JV coach is Kyri Khouri . The assistant coach is Paul Savage and so far everyone’s been having a great time. Matteo Guillot de Suduiraut ’16 noted the unity of the team this season, saying “This season has been a great opportunity to get to know the upper class men before they leave at the end of this year. I have fun everyday at practice and I’ve enjoyed seeing how much I’ve improved as the season progresses.”
“The tennis team has really tried to welcome me in my first season here at Prep and it’s been a great time so far. I can’t wait to see how the next season goes and I of course love the early dismissals!” Said Sophomore Chris Martin.
The number one singles on varsity currently are senior Luke Targett and freshman Mary Pat Lee. The JV team currently is undefeated while the varsity team is going strong with a 6-3 record so far. The varsity tennis team is looking forward to an exciting post regular season which starts in May although their final match was played on April 28 against Lakeside School. Congrats to the JV and varsity tennis teams for a fabulous season and good luck on the post regular season that’s coming up.
