January 21st, 22nd, and 23rd! Get ready, get set, GO!
The week everyone dreads is quickly approaching. Tuesday January 21st through Thursday January 23rd is Seattle Prep’s first semester finals week. Each day consists of two testing sessions with exceptions. There is a 10am- 11:30am test time followed by a half hour break. After a short break beginning at noon is the second test time. The Finals times are as follows:
Freshmen will start their first ever week of finals with their Collegio final followed by Biology or Honors Biology finals. Freshmen in Integrated Chemistry/ Physics are dismissed after their Collegio final, they will test on Thursday.
Sophomores and juniors have World language whether it be Chinese, French, German or Spanish on Tuesday morning. Sophomores and juniors continue their day with their Science final.
Seniors start Tuesday with World Language or AP statistics. Seniors taking two science courses take Physics or Honors Physics on Tuesday morning and Anatomy or AP biology in the afternoon. Seniors taking World Language and AP statistics will make up AP statistics Thursday morning. Tuesday afternoon, seniors take their Science finals.
On Wednesday freshman have World Language finals at 10am. Sophomores take Collegio finals Wednesday morning. In the afternoon sophomores have math finals. Juniors in Algebra 2 or Algebra- Trig take those finals Wednesday morning. Juniors in Geometry or Honors Pre- Calculus take their finals Wednesday afternoon. Seniors take Social Studies finals on Wednesday morning. Seniors taking two Social Studies courses will make up their Economics or Government& Politics final Thursday afternoon. Seniors taking English have their final Wednesday afternoon. Writing for College and Creative Writing will have a final project due before finals week therefore will not have a final Wednesday afternoon.
On Thursday Freshmen taking Integrated Physics/ Chemistry have one exam in the morning. Freshmen in Biology or Honors Biology have no exams on this day. Sophomores have no finals Thursday the 23rd. Juniors have their Collegio final in the morning. Seniors have their math final Thursday morning. AP Statistics seniors have no final on Thursday.

Here are some quick tips for surviving finals week:
- Talk to your teachers before the day of the test. It can’t hurt. Ask them any questions you have BEFORE finals.
- Chill out! Keep your mind open and relaxed as to not clog your brain.
- Sleep! Get sleep the days leading up to finals so you will be well rested and feel good.
- Just study! Prepare well so you feel confident on testing day.
- Let it go. After finals, don’t freak! Move on to the next thing. You are more than your finals scores.
- Come prepared. Have pens, pencils, erasers, calculators, and anything else you think you may need on test day ready.
