Picture Perfect: Colorful Rings Bring Senior Success
The 2018 Olympic Week was full of thrilling victories and tenacious class pride. One event, Picture Perfect, gave participants an opportunity to capture many of these spirit-filled moments. Senior Liam Sullivan brought home a senior victory with his epic photo of the five Olympic Rings represented by five Prep Olympic Week competitors.
Each contestant was to send in four photos of Olympic Week to be entered into the drawing and chosen by three faculty members. Of the 56 total entries, Sullivan ’18, Adora Pham ’21, and Nicholas Sandford ’19 placed in the top three spots. Sandford ’19 earned third place for Teilhard with a clear image of a junior handball player in a midair shot, arm poised and face determined. Pham ’21 brought her freshman collegio second place with a shot of a giant Jenga tower just beginning to topple as the facial expressions of the crowd display anxiety and shock.
With the insight and ideas of fellow yearbook photographer Rowan Forsythe ’18, Sullivan ’18 collaborated to create something that combined photos of the week with the five Olympic Rings while also representing each class and the faculty. Says Sullivan ’18, “We really wanted the grit and competitiveness of the week to show through, and our action photos and explosion of colors behind them helped accomplish that.”
