On September 7th the Seattle Prep community joined to cheer on the Prep football team. Students and teachers met at the newly remodeled Husky Stadium to share in the fun. Everyone from Mr. Kelly, to the new freshman joined to cheer on the team.
Seniors, juniors, and sophomores came ready to begin the new season. Freshman came excited to attend their first high school football game. In the first half, second quarter Roosevelt scored a touchdown leaving Prep behind 0-7. Prep didn’t let up. Neither did their fans. The Seattle Prep students cheered loud and proud in their white attire and ketp the team excited. Prep kept fighting but Roosevelt prevailed, ending with a final score of 7-0.
“Quite a disappointment” said Seattle Prep freshman Ryan Brunette, “…not that we lost but that we didn’t score. Though, being at the game was a great experience.”
This result was much better than last years Roosevelt VS Seattle Prep football game ending with 28-0. Prep is only improving, every year the current seniors stepp up and lead the team. Losing many star players from last year is tough, but the seniors have embraced their leadership roles head on. Playing in the new Husky Stadium was a great opportunity for the team, the students, the teachers, the parents, and all those others involved with Seattle Prep. There was a positive atmosphere on Saturday the 7th that the team will not forget. The entire Prep community is very supportive and they want the best for all their teams. The Prep students and staff are excited to face their next competitors.
