What are you teaching/working on at Prep?
I will be the new band director.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in rural North Carolina.
What College or University did you attend?
I went to Appalachian State University, and later came to Seattle to attend graduate school at UW.

What was the highlight of your summer?
Band camp!
Do you play any instruments?
I play flute and saxophone, and dabble in other instruments as well.
What was your first job?
My first real job was working as a camp counselor when I was teenager.
Do you have any hidden talents?
I’m pretty good at cooking, if that counts.
Your High School Experience:
What was the most popular song during your senior year of high school?
I remember the ‘Graduation Song’ from Vitamin C getting stuck in my head many a time as a senior.
What career did you want to pursue in high school?
I always knew I wanted to be a band director.
What is some advice you would give to yourself in high school?
I would tell myself to worry less about what other peoples’ opinions are, and to be myself.

What preparation of potato are you?
I’m definitely a hash brown kind of person.
What is a skill that you wish you had?
I wished that I possessed athleticism.
