The faculty team, led by Mr. Throckmorton, upset the Senior class in Olympic Week basketball.

Upset! Faculty Beats Seniors in Basketball

On March 6, 2017, Olympic Week began. Olympic Week is considerably one of the best weeks at Seattle Prep. For many, Olympic Week is an opportunity to prove themselves in certain events. Others may find Olympic Week stress relieving because they are able to take a break from school work to participate in fun activities. Basketball, one of the most popular events, was not only exciting but very intense to watch. The scores were close, but the Faculty and Seniors were able to advance to the finals. In the end, after a wild and fun game, the Faculty took first place.

The Seattle Prep Panthers do not take Olympic Week lightly. A lot can happen within a five minute game. During one competition between the Faculty and Juniors, Mr. Mack was so enthusiastic that he overdid it and injured his knee. He ended up going to the hospital afterwards. He may be limping around campus for awhile. Let this be a warning to the Faculty for future Olympic Weeks: the students take it very seriously.

In the final game between the Faculty and Seniors, the point spread was close. Ultimately, the Faculty prevailed. Despite losing Mr. Mack, their team still dominated the Seniors. Better luck to next year’s Seniors
